Freedom to adjust algorithms for main widgets

Freedom to adjust algorithms for main widgets, with a dropdown style setup like with merchandising campaigns.

  1. This is something we have already discussed on calls before, but am not sure if there has been any movement on this since. I think this would be an incredibly valuable addition to the product recs offering, as we have seen some customers leave us for a lack of autonomy. More than ever, customers are reaching out and asking if they can have direct influence over the algorithms.

  2. Having a dropdown style setup akin to merchandising campaigns or email campaigns would be the best approach here as it is customer friendly and easy to pick up.

  3. Within this system, there should be a robust preview experience so that customers can confidently preview a change without it potentially affecting the live site. There should also be an ‘undo’ feature, so that if a customer does accidentally push live a change that has a negative impact on recs (i.e. huge drop in performance or missing recommendations) the customer can simply click undo and the widget will default to its previous setup.
